
Lucknow, 24 October : In line with the recommendations of the NEP-2020 CISCE has taken various initiatives to infuse competency-based education of global standards in its affiliated schools. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is collaborating with the Education and Skills Directorateof the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to conduct an intensive five-day workshop for its secondary level teachers on ‘Educational Measurement and Item Development’. This workshop is designed to introduce evidence-based concepts and methods of Educational Measurement amongst CISCE teachers and provide them with practical experience in developing suitable measurement instruments to assess 21st century skills and global competencies. This workshop is being organized from 21st to 25th October 2024 at CISCE’s Centre of Excellence, Hyderabad in which over 150 secondary school teachers from prestigious schools across the country including 12 senior teachers from City Montessori School are participating. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, with distinguished educationists like Mr. Nathaniel Rennerstein, Analyst at the OECD Directorate, emphasizing the importance of developing teachers’ skills in line with 21st-century education. The workshop is being conducted by a team of expert specialists from the OECD’s Education and Skills Directorate.CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, mentioned that after the ongoing training in Hyderabad, CMS teachers will be better equipped to prepare their students for the PISA test (Programme for International Student Assessment), which assesses students’ knowledge and skills at an international level.
